A multiple car crash left one person dead Thursday afternoon in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The driver of a speeding car crashed into two parked cars and then hit cars driving down Austin and Archer Avenues at 4:10 p.m., police said.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the death.

At 8 p.m., police were still on the scene investigating the crash, witnesses told reporters on the scene.
