A man was pulled from the Chicago River Thursday afternoon after he jumped from the North Avenue Bridge on the Near North Side, police said.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit pulled the 25-year-old from the north branch of the river about 2:30 p.m. in the 1200 block of West North Avenue, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The 59-year-old was found about 7 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Chappel Avenue with a gunshot wound to his abdomen, police said.
Jonathan Vallejo, 38, of River Grove, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the Friday shooting and was pronounced dead at Lutheran General Hospital, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
