A girl walking to school Friday morning in the Humboldt Park neighborhood was approached by a man who tried to talk her into getting into his vehicle.

The girl, described only as a juvenile, was walking about 7:25 a.m. in the 1500 block of North Springfield Avenue, according to an alert from 25th District police.

She was approached by an unknown man who “attempted to lure her into his vehicle,” police said.

The girl was not hurt.

The suspect is described as a white man 30-40 with very short dark hair and a receding hairline. He was driving a red 4-door vehicle, possibly a Nissan.
