Fire damages Naperville business

No one was injured Saturday in a Naperville fire that partially damaged a west suburban business.

After receiving a call from an employee that there was smoke coming from a rear storage room in the 2000 block of Aurora Avenue, crews arrived on the scene around 1:10 p.m., according to a statement from the Naperville fire department.

Upon entry, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and had a difficult time locating and extinguishing the fire because of the size of the structure, the fire department said. The fire was put out 46 minutes after the call.

“Damage to the structure was moderate, however damage to contents within the structure was extensive due to smoke, fire, and water,” the fire department said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
