Overnight lane closures on southbound Lake Shore Drive are scheduled to begin Sunday for bridge beam installation as part of the Stevenson Expressway interchange project.

Starting at 11 p.m. Sunday, all southbound lanes of Lake Shore Drive will close, along with the ramp from the inbound Stevenson to northbound Lake Shore Drive. Closures will continue until 5 a.m. Monday, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

All southbound lanes and the ramp will also be closed nightly Tuesday through Friday from 1-5 a.m.

Traffic will be directed from southbound Lake Shore Drive to the southbound Stevenson ramp to exit at State Street. Drivers can re-enter the inbound Stevenson to access the southbound Lake Shore Drive ramp, according to the statement.

A posted detour will direct traffic to the inbound Stevenson and the southbound Lake Shore Drive ramp. Drivers should exit at the 31st Street exit and re-enter northbound Lake Shore Drive, according to the statement.
