Family displaced after Naperville house fire

Naperville Fire Department

A west suburban family was displaced after a house fire early Friday in their Naperville home.

The homeowner called 911 at 1:17 a.m. to report flames coming from the roof of his house in the 100 block of Loomis Street, according to a statement from the Naperville Fire Department. Crews arrived two minutes later.

Firefighters found the fire burning in the attic, and it was extinguished within 40 minutes, the department said. No one was injured, but the blaze rendered the house uninhabitable.

Companies from the Downers Grove, Wheaton, Lockport and Plainfield provided station coverage for the rest of Naperville while crews battled the fire.
