Man dies three days after Plainfield crash

A southwest suburban man died Friday evening, three days after he was involved in single-vehicle crash in Plainfield.

Maurice Parker, 34, was pronounced dead at 7:44 p.m. in the intensive care unit at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, according to the Will County coroner’s office.

Parker, a resident of Joliet, was the driver of a vehicle that left the roadway Tuesday and struck a building near the intersection of Caton Farm Road and Red Hawk Drive in Plainfield, the coroner’s office said.

The cause and manner of Parker’s death will be determined at a later date, pending a review of medical records, toxicology results and police reports. Joliet police are investigating the crash.
