SHARE Construction on two northwest suburban intersections begins Monday

Preliminary work to improve two intersections in the northwest suburbs begins Monday.

The project will add a right turning lane from eastbound Dundee Road to North Wilke Road and from eastbound Dundee Road to Kennicott Avenue in Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Along with the turning lanes, work will be done to modernize traffic signals, improve pedestrian safety and decrease traffic congestion off of Illinois 53, according to the statement.

The project is expected to be finished by summer 2016.
