The Chicago Avenue Bridge over the Chicago River will be closed to daytime traffic for three days starting Wednesday for emergency repairs to bridge deck grating and support beams.

All lanes will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, according to the Chicago Department of Transportation. One lane in both directions will be open at other times, and the bridge will remain open to pedestrians and bicycles even during full traffic closures.

Eastbound No. 66 CTA buses will be temporarily rerouted from Chicago to Halsted, Division and Larabee during full closures, CDOT said. Westbound No. 66 buses will be rerouted in the opposite direction.
