Temporary lane closures on the East River Road Bridge over I-90 began earlier this month for bridge reconstruction pre-stage work.

Intermittent, temporary lane closures on East River Road over I-90 and overnight lane and shoulder closures on I-90 at East River Road began Feb. 8. The bridge will be completely closed down in spring 2016, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
