A man was shot Saturday night in a gas station parking lot in the Bridgeport neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old was in the parking lot about 11:20 p.m. in the 3000 block of South Halsted when he heard gunfire and realized he’d been shot in the right leg, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, where his condition stabilized, police said. He was later transferred to Stroger Hospital.

Area Central detectives were investigating the shooting.
