A man was shot Sunday night while traveling on the Kennedy Expressway on the Northwest Side.

The 28-year-old was riding in a car south on Interstate 94 near Wilson Avenue when someone in a silver or gray older model Buick fired multiple shots, according to Illinois State Police. He suffered three gunshot wounds to his face, shoulder and hand.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

A 26-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl who were riding with him weren’t wounded in the shooting, state police said.

All lanes of traffic on I-94 were reopened by 11:30 p.m. after being shut down while police investigated the shooting.
