A 53-year-old man died after falling from a roof Saturday in Montclare on the North Side.

About 2:05 p.m., he was in the 2400 block of North Oak Park Avenue when he fell, Chicago police said. He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead.

Although the man remains unidentified, an autopsy conducted Sunday confirmed he died from the injuries he suffered in the fall, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. His death has been ruled an accident.

Area North detectives are investigating.
