One person was killed and several others were wounded in a shooting at a bar Sunday in South Bend, Indiana.

About 2 a.m., someone unleashed gunfire on a crowd of 75 to 100 people outside Kelly’s Pub in the 1100 block of East Mishawaka Avenue, Lt. Alex Arendt of the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit said. One man, 27-year-old Brandon Williams of Niles, Michigan, was killed in the shooting, Arendt said.

Ten more people were taken to area hospitals for treatment, Arendt said. Five of them have been treated and released while five more remain hospitalized in stabilized conditions.

The shooter is still at large, Arendt said. The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is investigating the shooting.

Recently, South Bend has been under national scrutiny after a police officer shot and killed Eric Logan, a 57-year-old black man, who was allegedly attempting to break into vehicles with a knife. Democratic presidential candidate and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg canceled several campaign stops to return to South Bend in the wake of that shooting.
