A man was cited Tuesday for crashing into a police vehicle as it crossed an intersection in Homan Square on the West Side.

The man was westbound about 10:20 p.m. in the 3200 block of West Lexington Street when he crashed his Lexus into a marked squad car traveling south on Kedzie Avenue, Chicago police said.

The officer in the squad car was hospitalized with injuries that were not life threatening, while the driver of the Lexus refused medical attention, police said.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash and the man was cited, police said.
