An armed man barricaded himself inside a home Wednesday morning in Lincoln Square on the North Side.

SWAT personnel were called to a home in the 2300 block of West Giddings Street about 1:50 a.m., for calls of a suicidal man who was armed and barricaded himself inside alone, Chicago police said.

The situation ended about 3:50 a.m., and the man was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center for an evaluation, police said.
