A utility worker was seriously injured Monday morning after falling from a pole in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

Paramedics responded to the injured man about 10 a.m. in the 7700 block of South Central Park Avenue, according to Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

The employee was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Langford said. He was listed in serious condition.

Chicago police did not immediately release details.
