The Wednesday shooting death of 21-year-old man in the McKinley Park neighborhood has been ruled a homicide.

He was identified as Jean Carlo Cobian by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The man was found lying unresponsive about 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 3400 block of South Archer Avenue, Chicago police said.

Police didn’t immediately say he was shot, only describing his injuries as “trauma” to the head and chest. He was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Autopsy results released Thursday revealed he died of a gunshot wound to his head.

Police are conducting a homicide investigation.
