An 11-year-old boy was wounded Friday in what police said was an accidental shooting in Lawndale on the West Side.

He was accidentally shot in the neck by his 7-year-old sister at 7:49 p.m., according to preliminary information from Chicago police.

The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

Two CPD squad cars were parked outside a quiet scene, with police tape marking off the front of the three-flat.

Only the occasional neighbor walked by the building on the bitter cold night, as TV news trucks accounted for almost all the activity in the neighborhood.

Area North detectives are investigating.
