A 68-year-old Monee man died Tuesday after crashing a vehicle in south suburban University Park.

Kenneth H. Meekma hit a pole in the 2500 block of Palmer Avenue, according to a statement from the Will County coroner’s office.

He was pronounced dead about 6:30 p.m. in University Park.

University Park police, who are investigating the incident, have not released details about the death. A autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday, the coroner’s office said.
