A 24-year-old man was shot and killed Monday morning in Little Village on the Southwest Side, police said.

He was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest about 9:20 a.m. in the 2100 block of South Central Park Avenue, according to Chicago police.

The man was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital and pronounced dead, police said. The circumstances of the shooting are unknown.

He was identified as Michael Lipshaw by the Cook County medical examiner’s office. An autopsy confirmed he died of his gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Area Central detectives are conducting a homicide investigation.
