The driver of a Pontiac Trans Sport minivan was turning south onto Kedzie Avenue from a gas station when the northbound motorcycle struck his van, police say.

A 46-year-old man was killed July 14, 2020, after a motorcycle he was riding crashed into a minivan in the 700 block of North Kedzie Avenue.

A driver was issued citations after a 46-year-old motorcyclist died after crashing into a minivan Tuesday in East Garfield Park on the West Side.

The driver of a Pontiac Trans Sport minivan was pulling out of a gas station south in the 700 block of North Kedzie Avenue about 10:40 p.m. when the northbound motorcycle struck his van, Chicago police said.

The 46-year-old driver of the motorcycle was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

He was identified as Germaine Patterson of West Rogers Park, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The 27-year-old man driving the minivan was uninjured, as were his passengers, police said.

The driver was issued citations for driving on a suspended license and failing to yield the right of way, according to police, who said the investigation is ongoing.
