Woman seriously injured in Woodstock crash

The woman crashed into a garbage truck Friday in the 600 block of South Eastwood Drive, police said.

A 39-year-old woman was seriously injured in a crash with a garbage truck Friday in suburban Woodstock.

About 2 a.m., the woman was traveling south on the 600 block of South Eastwood Drive when she lost control of her Chevrolet Cruze and veered into the northbound lanes, crashing head-on into a garbage truck, Woodstock police said in a statement.

The woman was suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said. She was not wearing her seatbelt.

No citations have been filed as police investigate.
