A 31-year-old man involved in a crash on Interstate 80 near Gary has died of his injuries.

Zahid Ali was pronounced dead at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The crash happened about 1:30 a.m. April 6 on I-80 near mile marker 15, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy released Thursday found Ali died of injuries from the crash.

Indiana State Police were not available for comment Thursday evening.
