A man was shot Thursday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The 21-year-old man was walking in the 7000 block of South Damen at 12:55 p.m. when a male walked up and opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The victim was shot in the lower back and left arm and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.

The suspect ran away after the shooting.

The man was found unresponsive in an alley in the 10700 block of South Lowe Avenue, police said.
