A 23-year-old man was wounded Tuesday afternoon in a Calumet Heights neighborhood drive-by shooting on the South Side.

The man was in the 9100 block of South Essex about 4:45 p.m. when a silver, four-door sedan drove up and someone inside opened fire, according to Chicago Police.

The victim was shot in the leg and taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.
