A 25-year-old man was seriously wounded in a shooting Saturday evening on the South Side.

At 6:21 p.m., he was standing in the 5400 block of South Cottage Grove when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside fired shots, according to Chicago Police. The man was struck in the back and abdomen.

He was taken in serious condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.
