A 26-year-old man was shot Monday evening in the South Side Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The man was in an alley in the 7500 block of South Hermitage at 5:57 p.m. when he heard shots and felt pain, according to Chicago Police.

He was shot in the lower back and transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition stabilized, police said.
