A 27-year-old man was shot in the right arm around 10:45 p.m. Thursday by someone in a passing car as he stood on the sidewalk in the 7800 block of South Hermitage in Gresham on the South Side, according to the police.

They said he was being treated at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
