A 46-year-old man was shot multiple times in both legs Friday morning in the East Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

He was standing outside just before 6 a.m. in the 3100 block of West Madison when four strangers walked up and started a fight, according to Chicago Police.

A gunman among the four then opened fire, hitting the 46-year-old in the legs, groin and back. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in serious condition, police said.

No one was in custody for the shooting.
