A man was killed in a shooting early Sunday in the Ashburn neighborhood on the South Side.

Alonzo Donell Truvillion, 32, was shot in the chest about 2:45 a.m. in the 2500 block of West 79th Street, according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Officers found him lying with the wound on a sidewalk, and he was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in critical condition.

Truvillion, who lived in the South Side Englewood neighborhood, was pronounced dead at 3:17 a.m., authorities said.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
