(DES PLAINES) A man who was fatally shot in the head at a northwest suburban shooting range Wednesday afternoon committed suicide, an autopsy found.

Shortly after 2 p.m. emergency crews in Des Plaines were called to Maxon’s Shooter’s Supplies and Indoor Range, located at 75 E. Bradrock, for a report of a gunshot victim, according to a statement from Des Plaines police.

They found Pawel Siniakowicz, 22, on the floor of the gun range with a single gunshot wound to his head, police said.

Siniakowicz, of the 4900 block of North McVicker in Chicago, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Thursday ruled Siniakowicz’s death a suicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
