A man who died Monday evening after he was struck by a Red Line train at the Loyola station committed suicide, according to an autopsy.

Jimmy Lee, 56, was struck by a Howard-bound train about 7:35 p.m. at the Loyola station in the 1200 block of West Loyola Avenue, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Lee, of the 1600 block of West Highland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy performed Tuesday found that Lee died of multiple injuries from the train striking him, and ruled his death a suicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
