A Robbins woman was killed in a head-on crash in the south suburb, but her 4-month-old girl survived.

Janeka Hicks was northbound on Pulaski Road near 136th Street in the south suburb when her Dodge Avenger crossed into the southbound lanes and hit a silver Chevrolet Camaro head-on shortly before 4 p.m. Friday, according to Cook County sheriff’s office spokeswoman Sophia Ansari.

Hicks, 26, of Robbins, was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, authorities said.

Her infant daughter Journey was taken to a hospital but “appeared to be OK,” according to Ansari.

The 37-year-old man driving the Chevy was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries,  Ansari said.
