A body pulled out of Lake Michigan near Foster Beach in the Edgewater neighborhood Friday morning remains unidentified.

The Chicago Police Marine Unit was called about 9:20 a.m. for reports of a body in the water near Foster and Lake Shore Drive, police said.

The body was that of a black male, who remains unidentified as of Tuesday morning, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy did not rule on cause and manner of death, pending further studies.
