A 15-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a train Monday night in west suburban Western Springs.

The boy was hit about 7:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Burlington Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

An autopsy Tuesday ruled his death a suicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
