A 17-year-old boy was shot multiple times Friday evening in the Burnside neighborhood on the South Side.

At 6:26 p.m, the boy was outside with a friend in the 9200 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue when someone walked up and shot him in the legs, according to Chicago Police.

He was taken to Christ Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
