Butterball Talk-Line helps get turkey on the table

There was a sweet New York Times story last week about Julia Child and Thanksgiving. It seems the chef extraordinaire/TV personality didn’t have an unlisted number.

So, as a frequent Thanksgiving guest of Child’s recounted in the story, the telephone rang constantly on turkey day. Total strangers just looked up her number and called with their bird calamities, and Child talked them through the situations.

Alas, we lost the wonderful Julia Child in 2004, so there will be no ringing her up this Thanksgiving. But if you do run into trouble, call on the Butterball Talk-Line. And just like Julia Child, the Talk-Line will put you at ease and let you know, yes, you can do this!

The popular Talk-Line has more than 50 specialists on hand to help. There’s someone for everyone. For example, there are Spanish speakers as well as a male talk-line expert.

The number is (800) BUTTERBALL (that translates to 800-288-8372 and it’s open today (Nov. 24) from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. CST; on Wednesday (Nov. 25) it is in operation from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.CST and on the big day itself, Thanksgiving (Nov. 26), it will be taking calls from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. CST. (BTW it remains in operation through Christmas Eve.)

And the Talk-Line has kept up with the times, too. You can reach it via Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, live chat or email. The website (find it here) has a number of helpful videos included along with other helpful information.

Just remember, help if available. No need to panic.
