The Chicago Housing Authority is teaming with the Chicago Public Library on three new developments pairing libraries with mixed-income housing.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the partnership Friday, saying the developments “will create spaces everyone can enjoy.”
The libraries will offer programming and resources to housing authority residents as well as others children and families, including early childhood learning spaces. Each library also will offer the “Teacher in a Library” program, where kids can get free homework assistance, and will host computer classes and help for job seekers.
