Four armed robberies were reported in less than two hours last week in the Uptown, Roscoe Village and Lake View neighborhoods on the North Side, according to Chicago Police.

A group of three to four men walked up to lone victims on the street or sitting in their vehicles, pulled out a silver or chrome handgun and demanded their property before walking away, according to a community alert from police. In one robbery, the men left in the victim’s vehicle.

The first two robberies happened at 3:30 a.m. Oct. 11 in the 2200 block of West Melrose, and at 4:15 a.m. Oct. 11 in the 3000 block of North Ravenswood, police said. The other two happened at 4:30 a.m. Oct. 11 in the 1000 block of West Byron, and at 5:15 a.m. Oct. 11 in the 500 block of West Briar.

Another similar robbery was reported at 4:46 p.m. Oct. 14 in the 800 block of West Lakeside, police said.

The suspects were described as three to four black men between 18 and 20 years of age, police said. In the incidents on Oct. 11, one man wore a red hooded sweatshirt and another wore a gray hooded sweatshirt.
