Someone who drove around construction barricades and got their car stuck on a railroad crossing was able to run away before it was hit by a train Wednesday morning in Gary, Indiana.

It happened about 6:30 a.m. at Dunes Highway and County Line Road, according to Gary police. No one was in the car, and no one was found nearby, police said.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call investigators at (219) 881-1209.
