One lane of the southbound Stevenson Expressway was closed Friday afternoon for emergency bridge deck repairs in southwest suburban Bolingbrook.

The right lane of southbound I-55 over Route 53 was closed for repairs as of 12:30 p.m., according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The repairs were expected to be completed by Friday evening, IDOT said.
