Emergency pothole repairs closed a lane of the Stevenson Expressway and a ramp connecting the expressway from Lake Shore Drive Tuesday.

The repairs closed the left outbound lane of the Stevenson Expressway at Martin Luther King Drive and a ramp from northbound Lake Shore Drive to the outbound Stevenson, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

A posted detour will direct traffic to exit at 18th Street and take southbound Lake Shore Drive to the outbound Stevenson, IDOT said.

Both the lane and ramp are expected to be open by Wednesday morning, IDOT said.
