A man was arrested after robbing a First American Bank branch on Monday afternoon in the Loop, authorities said.

The non-takeover robbery happened just after 2 p.m. at 33 W. Monroe St., according to the FBI. The robber did not show a weapon, and no one was hurt.

The suspect was arrested about an hour later on the city’s South Side, FBI spokesman Garrett Croon said. Charges were pending.

It was the 35th bank robbery in the Chicago area this year, according to FBI statistics.
