A former northwest suburban police officer facing drug and misconduct charges has been ordered held on a $250,000 bond.

Former Buffalo Grove police officer Lauren Greenwood was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with two felony counts of official conduct, and misdemeanor counts of possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to Illinois State Police.

The Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group conducted an investigation and learned that Greenwood “illegally disseminated official information to an authorized individual for personal gain,” according to a statement from ISP.

Her home in Mundelein was searched and officers found drug paraphernalia and a small amount of cannabis, ISP said.

Greenwood, 27, is being held at the Lake County Jail on a $250,000 bond, according to the statement. She faces up to 5 years in prison if convicted.
