(GENEVA) A west suburban man was arrested Thursday morning after he fired a handgun outside of his Geneva home.
Jacob Danmar, 66, of the 200 block of Syril Drive, faces charges of disorderly conduct, according to a statement from the Geneva Police Department.
Danmar’s wife called police about 10:35 a.m. and said her husband may be in danger because the couple had gotten into an argument, police said.
The woman left the home and told police Danmar had a gun and that she was fearful for his safety, police said.
Danmar fired his gun outside the home and went back inside before authorities arrived, police said. With help from the Kane County SWAT Team, police were able to bring Danmar into custody about 90 minutes later.
Danmar is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 21 in St. Charles, police said.
