(HINCKLEY) A west suburban man has been charged with sexually abusing a child for the last nine years.

Ival Edward Miles, 70, of Hinckley is charged with 12 counts of predatory sexual assault of a child, according to a statement from the DeKalb County sheriff’s office.

On Sunday, a victim reported to police that Miles repeatedly abused them over a period of nine years, according to the statement. The alleged abuse took place between 2005 and 2014.

Miles, of the 6000 block of West Sandwich Road in Hinckley, was arrested Wednesday and is being held pending a bond hearing, according to the sheriff’s office.
