A 24-year-old man was wounded in a Jeffery Manor drive-by shooting Monday night on the South Side.

About 8:10 p.m., he was sitting in front of a home in the 2500 block of East 97th Place when someone opened fire from a passing van, according to Chicago Police.

The man was hit in the ankle and taken to Trinity Hospital in good condition, police said.
