A man was shot Friday night in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side.

The 18-year-old was walking about 7:15 p.m. on a sidewalk in the 1800 block of West 87th Street when he heard gunshots and felt pain, Chicago Police said.

He took himself to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park with a gunshot wound to his hand, police said. His condition had stabilized.
