A man was shot to death Tuesday night in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

Romell Durr, 23, was standing on the sidewalk at 8:17 p.m. in the 4700 block of South Prairie when someone opened fire, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Durr was shot in the abdomen and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:52 p.m., authorities said. He lived in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

No one was in custody Wednesday morning as Area Central detectives were conducting a homicide investigation.
